slaying of medusa

I actually like the story of Medusa. The Story of Medusa is interesting because Medusa actually used to be beautiful. She was actually considered one of the most beautiful women in Greece. She would spend hours admiring herself in mirrors, windows, wells.. pretty much anything she could get her reflection in.One day Medusa went to the temple of Athena and commented on everything, like the paintings were beautiful but would be much prettier if she was the subject and not Athena. So when Medusa said this the entire temple cleared out and Athena appeared and told Medusa off. Athena said to Medusa since you think you are so beautiful then you shall be the ugliest and cursed her with hidiousness.

In this picture, there are many colors of snakes. In the picture, snakes are surrounding the ground by medusas decapetated head. The look on Medusas face is terrifying. In this Painting Meduas hair almost looks like hair and not snakes. The snakes just seem to be surrounding her not connected to her head. In this picture it also looks like she is bleeding snakes, but they might just be really close to her neck.
